Orbital Sciences Expands California Operations
August 6, 2008

[Satellite Today -8-06-08] Orbital Sciences Corp. is expanding its workforce in the Southern California area with a new engineering and technology center scheduled to open this fall, the company announced August 5.
    The new facility will augment Orbital's launch vehicle and space systems engineering capabilities. Orbital initially expects to employ 30 to 40 engineers that will support the Taurus 2 space launch vehicle as well as the company's missile defense efforts.
    Orbital expects the center to eventually employ 150 people and expand its focus to cover national security and interplanetary space systems as well as supplier management of Los Angeles-area subcontractors.
