Air Logistics Chooses Iridium For Helicopter Fleet

Air Logistics, a U.S. helicopter fleet serving the offshore oil industry, is equipping 125 aircraft with Iridium-based satellite systems for voice communications and automatic flight following, Iridium Satellite announced June 7.

Sky Connect, an Iridium value-added manufacturer and reseller, will install units on Air Logistics helicopters operating in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. The units provide voice, tracking and text messages via the Iridium constellation with a single-switch control.
