Stratos Offers BGAN Mobile Satellite Service To Japan

Stratos Global Corp. has struck a partnership with Japan Digital Communications (JDC) to introduce Inmarsat BGAN mobile satellite service to Japan, Stratos announced June 20.

BGAN is now available in southern Japan and will be made available throughout the country when the third Inmarsat I-4 communications satellite is operable after a planned launch in 2008.

JDC expects Japanese demand for BGAN from government and military agencies, first responders and media organizations seeking advanced remote communications solutions.
