EMS Satcom signed a memorandum of understanding with Vitrociset Belgium and Creaction International to develop a new satellite communications service to offer airtime services and equipment in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, the companies announced Nov. 9.
EMS Satcom will supply equipment and airtime services. Vitrociset Belgium operates the European Space Agency (ESA) satellite ground station in Redu, Belgium, that will track and receive signals from the Artemis L-band communications satellite, and Creaction is the Belgian official correspondent for ESA Space Technology Transfer and will develop applications and services in partnership with European companies.
The initial project will demonstrate and validate a satellite-based service offering on-demand bus services to rural areas in Belgium.
