International Launch Services (ILS) and SES Satellite Leasing announced a contract for five SES satellites to be launched on Proton Breeze M vehicles through 2013, ILS announced June 18.
Financial details were not disclosed. The first mission is expected in 2009. With five firm orders available to SES’ operating companies SES Americom, SES Astra, SES New Skies and SES Sirius, the contract marks ILS’ largest single launch services contract since it began marketing the Russian Proton Breeze M vehicle to commercial satellite operators in 1993.
