[Satellite Today 09-02-08] MTV acquired a second transponder on Eutelsat’s Eurobird 9 satellite after calling on GlobeCast to provide distribution and capacity for MTV Portugal, MTV announced Sept. 2.
Eurobird 9, located at 9 degrees East, provides broadcast coverage to Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa.
GlobeCast has two dedicated transponders on Eurobird 9 that facilitate uplink from the United Kingdom and France. The company receives MTV’s channel feed via fiber at its London Technical Operations Center.
