[Satellite Today 09-02-08] The proposed merger between Arqiva and National Grid Wireless was accepted by the U.K. Competition Commission, Arqiva announced Sept. 2.
The company said that the merger would result in a unified broadcast transmission infrastructure for the United Kingdom
Since the announcement of the acquisition in 2007, Arqiva and National Grid Wireless have operated as separate entities, under the U.K.’s “hold separate” requirements, while the Competition Commission inquiry was conducted.
With the requirements lifted, both companies said the merger will be in effect immediately.
